YARRA YERING ON THE MARKET

YARRA Yering, the Yarra Valley vineyard owned by the late Dr Bailey Carrodus, is up for sale. Executors of the estate have placed the 28ha vineyard and winery on the market. Dr Carrodus, who died in September last year at 78, is believed to have stipulated in the will that whoever buys the property will be asked to keep all of its existing staff. The vineyard at Coldstream takes in some of the Yarra Valley's highest points and has been the source for two of Australia's earliest cult wines, Dry Red No. 1 (Bordeaux style grape varieties) and Dry Red No. 2 (Rhone style grape varieties).
