NAKED AND NOVEL

WINE lovers can buy their favourite drink in bottles, casks, plastic bottles and cans - and now in pouches. The Constellation Wines group recently released two wines in 1.5-litre pouches under the Bud Naked label: a Marlborough sauvignon blanc and a McLaren Vale shiraz tempranillo blend. Palandri launched similar pouches a couple of year ago before their financial woes but Constellation is planning a big push for the new packaging, which it says chills fast in the fridge or on ice, and stays cooler longer. It also says the easy-to-carry design is great for places where glass isn't allowed and claims the wine stays fresh for up to a month after opening. Bud Naked wines retail for $19.99.
